When
I read an author's biography I want to know the dirty
details. Perhaps I am nosy or I just have a really healthy
appetite for knowledge, either way I like to know about
people. And in an un-shocking twist I usually don't like to
reveal too much about myself. That seems unfair doesn't it? Well I'll try to open up a little more here.
So, I'm not going
to start with the usual, like where I was born, or anything like
that. You want the nitty-gritty details, and that is what
I'm going to deliver. From the more serious side of life to
the more colorful. You had to know didn't you?
I was born to two
very loving and supportive parents who are still together.
Believe me I know how blessed I am. I am the oldest
daughter of four, which for those who can't count means I have
three sisters. My youngest sister, whom I call 'Angel', is
only twelve and likes to remind me all the time how much older I
am than her. Yes, she's twelve and is at that pre-teen
annoying stage. And yes I am feeling every single one of my
years.
In a new
development I was asked to teach 4th grade, and have
accepted. I will begin teaching this fall (2007). I
will maintain my current job in conjunction with my teaching
position. My dad says I will make a great case study as the environment
I work in now is very free and open. I enjoy listening to
the radio, online videos, and whatever else. No major
rules. I will be working in an area that doesn't allow for
that. We'll see.
Okay, enough of
that. I won't go on to politics, even though it is my second
favorite topic after religion. I know, I sound like a
great dinner conversationalist don't I? I'm actually not
that bad. I can talk about a range of subjects. I love
history, books, movies, music, and a host of other things that I
can talk about, but if we ever got into a discussion on politics
and religion, you know I have a lot to say.
I love old
movies, especially those in Technicolor. My favorite stars
from the past include Judy Garland, Debbie Reynolds, Doris Day,
and Lucille Ball. As far as the men I like Robert Redford,
Rock Hudson, James Garner, George Sanders, and Van Johnson. I guess you could say I'm your
average girl as far as movies go. If it has a romance to it
I'll usually watch it, even if they are blowing sh*t up.*
Beloved music,
how do people go for days without listening to it? By the
time I was three years old I knew every word to every song on
MTV. This is not an exaggeration either, its a rather
well-known story in my family. My dad, who is a drummer, was
in a band around the time I was born. In fact he was on a
gig in Detroit when I was born, and my mother has always been a
rocker chic, so the fact we had MTV was not that unusual. My
love for music has been around since I was very little. My
first favorite song was "Jump" by Van Halen. I
love classic rock. And I know my music history, do you?
TV is a little
different. I like a variety, but I axed major drama from my
viewing pleasure after the first season of Dawson's Creek. I
don't need it and quite frankly if their drama isn't my drama,
then I could really care less. A few of my current favorites
are Supernatural and Scrubs. Some old favorites include Veronica
Mars, Gilmore Girls, Buffy the
Vampire Slayer, X-Files, Charmed, and Friends. I like the
'otherworldly' a lot.
Well, you learned
a little more. Not all nasty, and not all pleasant, but a
fair share I would say. Write me sometime.
*blowing sh*t up
is in reference to what men in my life prefer to watch.
